WFE EXTRA, JACKIE ZANE TALKS ABOUT WORKING WITH ROB

Jackie Zane (Lucinda) shares another amazing story from the ‘Water For Elephants’ set when she filmed with Jim Norton (Camel) and Rob (Jacob). Here are some excerpts.

In between takes… “Robert patiently waits, taking a swig now and then from his Lipton Green Tea bottle. The next shot will be filmed and Robert glances around for a place to stash his drink. We hide it beneath the pillows on the couch so it will not be in the shot.”

“The break soon ended as they were ready to pick up some shots from the middle of the train (our car). So in between takes we chatted more with Rob and Jim. Jim gave us all a lesson in the alcohol known as Jake, which is something his character devoured. Rob talked about how he was up late the night before, up early for a press junket for Eclipse, and then accidentally arrived on set 4 hours early when he could have been sleeping! Nobody can accuse that man of not being a hard worker!! He was exhausted but you would never know it as he was always on point during the shoots and friendly in between takes.”

“Four hours, 36 herbal cigarettes, and 36 takes later we were released from the scene. We all staggered back to base camp to change.I stopped by the hair and make-up trailer to turn in my wig, when Rob walks in and gives me a look of shock. After working with this man for several days, he said to me “I didn’t know you were blonde!” We realized he had never seen me without my wig and both got a laugh out of it. It was a lovely end to a long night.”

First look at Robert Pattinson in ‘Water For Elephants’ revealed by movie tie-in

Thanks to the Twilight series, Robert Pattinson (“Edward Cullen”) is no stranger to being featured in movie tie-in versions of books (he’s been on the cover of TwilightNew Moon, and Eclipse, of course).

Algonquin Books has recently announced that Pattinson and his Water For Elephants co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz will be featured in new movie tie-in editions of that book, by Sara Gruen, as well.

The attached image is, Algonquin has explained, a catalogue spread which contains the details.

According to it, there’ll be two: a paperback movie tie-in at $14.95 and a mass market movie tie-in for $7.99. They’ll both be released on March 1, 2011, just a few weeks before the April 15th release of the film.

In Water For Elephants, Pattinson portrays “Jacob Jankowski,” the protagonist of the story. He is the young version of the character – the one who joins a travelling circus in the depression era.

If you haven’t read WFE yet, it is definitely a light and fun book worth checking out – especially if you’re a Pattinson fan and plan to see the film.

*Extra* Feedback From The ‘Water For Elephants Set: Rob Doing Stunts

Today we heard from two more extras, who shared their experiences about working with Rob on the Water for Elephants set. The first account comes from Patrick Donahue, who mentioned what impressed him the most:

I was greatly impressed with Rob on two counts; one, he can switch accents between takes so fast! He’d talk in his British dialect while not working, and go right back into his American, and you’d never know he was acting it. He also was great with taking stunt falls. I watched as he was thrown off a train platform in a fight scene a good dozen-plus times, some of which he landed square on his back. But he took it and just rolled with it. Great stuff.

WFE Extra Talks about A Fun Day On Set with Rob and Christoph Waltz

Lisa…what has been your most memorable moment in LA? I’m sure you pretty awestruck when you went to lunch with Clayton.

The lunch was great….I got the opportunity to make Christoph Waltz and Robert Pattinson laugh before they were about to engage in a fight scene. When I was on the set for Water For Elephants I was pretty much awestruck being in the same room as Christoph Waltz and Reese Witherspoon two Academy Award winners and actors I respect and what girl wouldn’t want to be in the same room as Robert Pattinson. So we had a moment where I introduced myself to the assistant director who continued to put me in front of the camera which lined me up to be right next to Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz and Christoph looks at me…it’s a fight scene and he says, “miss I’m so sorry for the despicable array of violence your about to see” as he was about to beat up Robert Pattinson and I said, “Christoph just do what you have to do” and Robert was so taken aback that someone would say something like that to him that they both start laughing
