While his Twilight series counterparts are racing across the globe to promote The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Robert Pattinson is busy on the set of Water For Elephants.
As you know, he’s filming the book-to-film adaptation of Sara Gruen’s best-seller in California currently, and in a recent interview the actor did with the New York Times, he explained that the set was filled with Oscar winners – himself being the exception.
“It feels like everyone is an Oscar winner except me,” he said.
Of course, the NYT predicts that Water For Elephants is Robert Pattinson’s biggest chance to prove himself outside of the Twilight arena, so it very well may be that Pattinson is lining himself up to join his co-stars in accolades.
Among those Academy Award-winning actors co-starring in the picture with him are Reese Witherspoon (won “Best Actress” award for Walk The Line) and Christoph Waltz (won “Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role” for Inglourious Basterds). Hal Holbrook (who portrays the older version of Pattinson’s character “Jacob”) was also nominated for an Oscar, as was screenplay author Richard LaGravanese.
